Employment/Labor Law:
Wrongful Termination

The State of Arizona follows the “at-will” employee status. Employers are generally able to terminate or demote any at-will employees with out cause or notice. Employees are able to terminate the relationship in the same manner. There are some exceptions and limitations however.

You would generally not be considered an at-will employee if you and your employer have some sort of contract determining the time frame you would work for the company.  In this situation, contractually bound employees tend to have even more protection from being wrongfully terminated / demoted.  Please call us with any legal questions.
